The Strymon BigSky MX is a next-generation reverb workstation pedal that significantly expands on the capabilities of the original BigSky. It features dual reverb engines, allowing users to run two reverb algorithms simultaneously in series, parallel, or split configurations—ideal for creating expansive and layered soundscapes. The pedal includes 12 reverb machines, seven of which are entirely new, alongside enhanced versions of classic algorithms like Spring, Plate, Hall, Room, and Shimmer. A standout feature is its stereo impulse response (IR) engine, which enables users to load custom IRs for realistic emulation of physical spaces and vintage gear. Powered by a tri-core 800 MHz ARM processor, the BigSky MX delivers high-fidelity, artifact-free reverbs with smooth real-time control. Despite its powerful internals, it maintains a user-friendly interface with a clear display and intuitive layout, making it suitable for both studio work and live performance.
